This renewal only applies to people who passed the California real estate license exam and mailed their license application before October 1, 2007. It does not apply if you received your license on or after October 1, 2007. The state of California requires that you complete the Real Estate Practice course and one other college-level course within 18-months of getting your salesperson’s license issued. This means that you need to enroll and complete the coursework within an 18-month timeframe to keep your license up-to-date and active.
We offer the Real Estate Practice course and seven additional courses to help you satisfy your real estate license requirements. Simply enroll in the Practice course and one other course, and you will be on your way!
To make it easy, you can complete the coursework with convenient online materials. According to California law, the minimum amount of time you can take to finish each course is 18 days. If you enroll in two classes, the least amount of time is 36 days, and so on.

Wait! You may have already satisfied the 18-month requirement. The Department of Real Estate will accept some college-level coursework in lieu of the aforementioned courses. This includes: General Accounting, Micro Economics, Macro Economics or Business Law. It doesn’t matter when you took these classes as long as you can provide official transcripts or proof of completion to the Department of Real Estate. Simply call an Admissions Representative to see if this applies to you!

Because you have already completed Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice and one additional course, you do not need to
complete the full 45 hours of continuing education.
You simply need to complete 15 hours of coursework for the first renewal. Your salesperson license is issued for a four-year period and should be renewed prior to the expiration date listed on the license. You will receive instruction in the following areas:

- Fair Housing
- Risk Management
Pass or don’t pay! When you enroll in the online course, you have the option to pay after you pass. At Allied, we want you to succeed. Simply enroll in the course. If you do not finish, you don’t have to pay.
Important Notice: If your license expiration date was after 6/30/07, you must take a 3 hour Risk Management Course to renew your license as well as 12 hours of education. Allied's renewal package has the course you need! You may not take the final exam the same day you enroll in the course. By law, you must wait a minimum of two days. You have up to one year to complete the coursework. The final exam is open book and does not require a proctor.

All real estate salespeople and brokers are required to complete 45-hours of continuing education to keep their California real estate license active and up to date. These hours fulfill the requirements for all brokers's and salespersons' renewals (except salespersons' first renewal).
Your salesperson or broker license is issued for a four-year period and should be renewed prior to the expiration date listed on the license. As a reminder, the DRE will mail you a renewal form approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date.
This course applies to individuals with existing licenses. (It is not applicable to first-time salesperson license renewals.)
